Wassup guys,
How are you all doing my wonderful people?
It’s been a little while since I posted an update and a crazy few weeks for me.
As some of you may already know if you follow me on Facebook, I fell into Cardiac arrest around 2 weeks ago and was out cold…
I’m quite lucky to be alive!
For reasons unknown, I can honestly say that what happened was rather random and not only a shock to me, but my family, friends and everyone around me…
I felt it necessary to let everyone know that I’m OK and still loving life 🙂
Today isn’t about a specific topic – I just feel the need to type and flow…
Thoughts
The recent event has thrown me into a state of deep reflection ever since…
I’m a firm believer that everything happens for a reason and that is the philosophy I live by…
I also believe that whatever the reason for something happening may not be seen/clear to us at the time.
Therefore, I let it be and continue on with life holding onto the gratitude and appreciation that I am still able to breathe, continue experiencing happiness and making my dreams a reality.
When you face death and accept that it is a normal part of life, the fear of death disappears and you appreciate it for what it is…
A natural part of life…
I think as humans we view death in the wrong light and for a number of valid reasons (We won’t go to much into this subject today though)
Rather than mourn over the loss of someones life, I believe we should celebrate it. I know that if I did past away 2 weeks ago, I would of wanted everyone to celebrate…Not cry and be sad.
I was blacked out most of the time so mentally trying to recover at the moment isn’t as bad for me as it is for others.
New Reality
It’s really been an eye opener as to how much people care about me and brought into light a question for me to ask you guys:
Do you really know how much people love you?
Maybe you don’t as people tend to show appreciation “after” someone has passed away rather than whilst they are alive. Something to think about…
However, I feel exploring this question may help to change the way you see yourself as it has done for me.
I now ask myself:
“Why do people love you so much David and how did you not see it before”
We as a people do so much good in our lives but never see it the way others do. It’s as if we have a hard time appreciating our true value.
I feel this is down to the self image we have created for ourselves based of painful experiences (search for self image on this site as I have written an article about the topic)
For some reason, humans have a hard time embracing their greatness and all the wonderful things they have done for themselves and others – I’m thinking about my Mum as I type this…
Greatness vs Ego
I’ve also come to learn that people don’t give themselves the props they deserve as we live in a society where embracing how good or great we are at something is seen as being “Egotistic” or “Big Headed” – There is a big problem here…
If you are great at making music for example, then you should be able to share this with people that you are GREAT at making music without feeling that you’ll come across as big headed or egotistic… Sadly that’s not the case.
For us to limit sharing our greatness due to the fear of what others think is quite absurd…Don’t you think?
At the young age of 25, I “know” what I am great at…
I am now focusing my energy on those areas of greatness to not only improve them but to continue sharing them with the rest of the world…
I share this with you in hope that you have found your greatness and if you haven’t then no need to worry – Just try to live in the present moment being grateful for what you DO have and flow with life rather than flowing against it.
The Flow of Life
To flow against life is to flow against what it is (The Present Moment)
Meaning: If something happens, you CANNOT change the fact that it has happened.
You have a choice as to how you react to what has happened, but you CANNOT change it.
For example – If you loose your phone on a night out, you can’t change the fact that the phone is now missing – It is what it is, whether you chose to accept it or not…
Most of the time in a given situation as such, people throw tantrums and hissy fits causing themselves much unnecessary pain.
Rather than making peace with what is, they think about what “could have been” had they done things differently…
ANY past situation you’ve faced, it’s irrelevant what you think you:
“SHOULD” have done
“COULD” have done OR
“WOULD” have done…It’s the past and cannot be changed I’m afraid…
Instead of focusing about that which cannot be changed, focus on how you can/will do things differently if ever faced with the same or similar situation…
Logically on all levels this makes sense!
Once people fully understand the above concept and start applying it, stress levels will decrease dramatically and the quality of your life WILL improve – I am confident of that.
Life vs Life
The term “Life is Short” couldn’t be any truer for me at this present moment.
I see life for what it is…lessons and experiences…
This is one of the many reasons why I don’t waste time on negativity or things that are of no benefit/value to me.
This is why I practice forgiveness towards those who have hurt me in the past. Not for there benefit, but for me to be able to live in peace without harboring negative feelings/emotions.
My message is the same as before:
Enjoy life, question everything, be happy and try to do what it is that brings you ultimate joy.
Closing
I don’t know what path my life will take, none of us do. All we can do is our best and if our best doesn’t bring to us what we desire, we can keep trying or may choose to accept that it’s not within our destiny to have that which we dream of…Only you can make that decision!
Speaking of dreams though, I have started writing a book that I would like to release next year. One of my major life goals/dreams is to release a book along the lines of self development, motivation and positivity. I feel I have gone through my fair share of experiences and learning to be adept at creative writing.
Plus…
What do I have to loose 🙂
Pray for me that I release a best seller and I will pray for you that your dreams come through…
Love as always

Dee’s Thoughts of the Day

~Stop listening to what others tell you, you can and cannot do~
Recognise that the only limitations that exist are the ones in which you place upon yourself!
The moment you create your reality based on the ideologies of other’s, you lose track track of your true self!
~There is an abundance of wealth out there for all of us to create~
To think that we cannot become millionaire’s because there is too many out there already is a “small” and “old” way of thinking.
People can live the life’s they truly wish to live but aren’t willing to put in the amount of work and sacrifice that comes with it.
So what is the result of this…We conform to the norm!
What does this mean exactly…
It means that we just follow what everyone else does and don’t question anything. We follow without questioning because:
“Society say’s that’s the way it works”
Well, if you take a look at the world we live in now, it’s quite clear that society is messed up, so I will continue to question and try my hardest not to conform to the norm.
I mean, let’s take a real quick look:
– The economy is f*cked up (pardon my french)
-The school and education systems aren’t working.
Why pay £9,000 for 1 year of study when university used to be free. YES, do your research, it used to be free.
-The political system…Don’t get me started!
And I could continue ranting but I’ll hold fire here.
Sorry for the rant, but I’ve got a lot on my mind.
Back to blogging after the show…I got lot’s to share 😀

Quote of the Week – Preparation is Everything
Posted: Aug 20, 2013 in Life, MotivationTags: Benjamin Franklin, Failure, Motivation, Present, Wealth
Hey guys,
How is everybody this week? I hope you’re all doing well. I’ve had a few emails from some of you asking me about goal setting and the difficulty you’re having in achieving your goals due to a lack of motivation and the feeling of giving up and going down the lazy route.
I can assure you, you don’t want to go down this road!
I find that nine times outta ten people are ambitious and strive to do well but the feeling of being demotivated all the time and the failure to prepare holds them back greatly. This brings me to today’s quote:
“The will to succeed is important, but what’s more important is the will to prepare”
It’s all good wanting to do well in life and striving for success but in order to reach that success we must first learn and appreciate “The Law of Preparation”
Let’s first look at a few definitions of the word “Preparation“:
1) A proceeding, measure, or provision by which one prepares forsomething: preparations for a journey
2) Any proceeding, experience, or the like considered as a mode of preparing for the future.
3) An act of preparing.
4) The state of being prepared.
5) Something prepared, manufactured, or compounded: a special preparation for sunbathers.
The famous quote comes to mind by Benjamin Franklin:
“Fail to prepare, prepare to fail” – A quote I have used many times
Failing to prepare from the start is likely to end with the exact same ending….failure. You lack direction when you fail to prepare and a lack of direction will soon see you on the road to “no where”.
Picture a pilot with a plane full of passengers scheduled to travel to Miami. If air control fail to plan a route for the pilot, it’s trouble for all the passengers and all the staff onboard.
The same can be said for those of us travelling in life with no direction. Although many of us work 9-5s, study or are self employed and are deemed as “doing well”, we still collectively as individuals feel lost and question “what is life all about”.
It’s not uncommon to hear more people questioning life these days and questioning what their purpose is for being here. People what to know why they exist and this leads them to start questioning their future and the unknown.
It’s the not knowing which leaves us in fear as we fear the unknown. It’s easy to create anxiety by not knowing because we try to think of all the possible outcomes of what “could” happen in any given situation and what we would do “if” that situation manifested. Creating scenarios in our heads which may never occur and then worrying about those scenarios is “madness” and will leave us exactly that…”mad”. That’s what crazy people do right…Create scenarios in their head which don’t exist…A false reality!
That’s why I always suggest people live in the present (the right now). By living in the present moment you deal with situations as of when they occur. You acknowledge the future but you don’t live in it. The past is “behind us”. If we are aiming to move forward in life we have no need to “look back” at the past as it is “behind us” and are aim isn’t to move back but forwards in life.
Once we learn how to live in the present moment we can really start setting goals that shape our future. We learn how to control our thoughts and become aware that we are not our thoughts or emotions. Once you acknowledge this your purpose for being here becomes clearer as you identify with your feelings and learn how to follow your heart and intuition.
Your future goals will be based on what your heart truly desires thus giving you motivation to achieve them rather than striving for a goal based around material wealth (the mind’s goal).
Material wealth can only keep a man happy for so long before his soul becomes empty. Money and designer brands are an illusion to keep the ego happy. You are not your ego so essentially the money and designer brands aren’t making “you” happy at heart. A Gucci bag, LV purse, new BMW, pay rise, new TV or any material isn’t going to keep you happy long term. Look at how much millionaire celebs turn to drugs and are unhappy in life trying to fill emptiness…
Saying that though, in some situations money can buy happiness. I beleive using materialistic wealth as a motivator in helping you achieve your goals is OK as long as you don’t make materialistic wealth your ONLY goal in life and the reason you wake up everyday.
It’s up to us as individuals what route we decide to take in life. You can be organised, sufficient and always true to your word OR you can be un-organised, turn up late and unreliable.
What’s it gonna be?
