What’s good people,

I hope everyone’s well.

I first want to say a massive thank you to everyone that’s reached out and supported me on my journey so far. From the start of the blog to the start of the body transformation in January, to start of this completion prep, it’s all been joyous experience and I’ve loved sharing every bit of it with you.

At the start of the year, I had intention whatsoever to compete and step on stage.

In fact, I had no intention of even dropping my bodyfat which was at the time sitting at around 20%. As most of you know, I dislocated my shoulder back in December and was out of the gym feeling sorry for myself.

The Christmas season was the perfect time to eat and make excuses. I went on the “See Food Diet 2.0” whereby you see it, you eat it LOL.

I ate anything and everything I wanted and at the time I was actually enjoying it.

You name it – Ice-cream, Hargandarz strawberry and cheese cake being my favourite 🙂

Mince pies, Chinese platters with the little duck rolls and that beautiful tasting peaking sauce 🙂

~Baileys, rum cake, jerk chicken~

Trust me, I was going for it hard LOL.

But a combination of no gym and the “See Food Diet 2.0” soon had a guy looking tubby around the waist and out of shape.

Still at this point I hadn’t thought to slow down until my gym put together this body transformation competition where you had 12 weeks to transform your body to the best of your abilty. I knew that by entering I would have the motivation to stop feeling sorry for myself and have a goal in place to work towards. Being goal orientated, I signed up and it was history…

Cut a long story short, I grinded hard and I won. Why do I tell you this?

Body Transformation – New Winner Poster

I tell you this because, around the time of winning the body transformation contest was around the time I first heard about the WBFF European  Chaapionships coming to the UK. I also had a holiday booked for July and knew that I was going to continue cutting to further my progress and bring through my abs a bit more.

That’s when the thought entered my head:

“David, why don’t you enter the show – You’ve always wanted to compete. Prove to yourself that you can do it. What bigger motivator do you need?”

But I left it at that, just a thought…

Weeks passed and it played on my mind. I’d check Facebook and see guy’s competing and/or getting ready for a show and my soul wanted a piece of the action and wouldn’t let me rest.

I mentioned it to a few people and more or less everyone said I should go for it.

The consensus was that I diet and train hard so why not just go for it.

“Full throttle, no looking back”

I knew that if I entered and told everyone that I was competing, there would be no going back.

I mean, how could there be any going back?

I would look like a fool. Even worst, a man that doesn’t keep his word. And I am a man of my words (Well I try LOL)

After self doubt, self talk and self analysis – I registered for the show. £190 was paid to enter and the word was out:

“David is competing on the 9th November at the Indigo2 at the WBFF Show”

More self doubt enters and self talk begins:

“Snap – I’ve done it? I can’t do this! What was I thinking? What am I thinking? I’m not cut out for this. Maybe I can fly to America and everyone will forget if I pull out…”

That’s where the journey begun and it was time to get serious…

The Prep

Firstly, for those who don’t know – In the bodybuiding/fitness game, when competitors are getting ready for a show, they go through a process called a “prep” wherby the undergo a strict training & eating regime for a number of weeks to bring their physique close perfection. This usually involves weeks of no chocolate, sweets, cakes, crisp, alcohol and all of lifes little treasures. You basically deprive yourself of the things you cheekiliy love to eat in order to look perfect for that special day LOL. Yes, I too ask why I do it sometimes HA.

Anyhoo, a competion prep can last any where between 12-20 weeks to even a year depending on the competiotors physique, the show they’re entering and a number of different factors.

My competition prep was a continuation from the body transformation in January at the start of this year. So I’ve basically been dieting since January…

Don’t worry, I plan to go on the “See Food Diet 3.0” real soon LOL – Only joking. That would be some Man vs Food type of eating going on over here I tell you LOL.

Anyway, where was I…

It was time to bring my A game like never before. I knew that I was going to be stepping on stage with some of Europe’s finest athletes. I knew that I had to go harder than ever before. In my mind, I knew that if I was going to even stand a chance, I’d have to get uncomforatable, real uncomfortable.

“I’ve have to step out my comfort zone”

In a short number of weeks I’d have to learn how to pose like a pro, learn to model a suit on the cat walk, learn how to tense my whole body and look as if it’s even close to comfortable, learn to smile whilst not looking awrward and have the confidence to step out in front of 1800 people in nothing but my yellow underwear and my afro…

” No tuning back now Davey boy”

This competion was more than than coming first place for me. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t training for 2nd place or anything like that LOL – But on a deeper level though, I was facing some real demons…Let me explain.

As I posted on Facebook last week – Around some time back in 2008 I used to do a bit of acting. I was going to this drama group and we had a production coming on. ON the morning of the show, I allowed fear and aniexty to consume me and pulled out of the show. I let everyone down including myself.  I didn’t even call to say I wasn’t turning up. Even worst, I was starting the show…

I’ve lived with that demon since 2008 but have now forgiven myself for that sutuation and learnt from the experience.

But within that still was the underlying fear of stepping in front of people on a stage like setting.

Where did this fear come from I’ve always asked myself. I’ve never been a shy person and I like to think that I’m confident. So what was up??? I have some digging to do…

Little did I know that the 08 stage incident would lead to face my fears 5 years later stepping in front of a MUCH larger audience and a more intense setting. It was divine intention that I went down the path of what I thought was failure and to have the ability to share my story with you today.

This is my why I am able to open heartedly make a statement such as:

“Everything happens for a reason” – and actually aceept it as my personal truth. Because that’ is all my life has ever been. Going through experiences and learning from them.

That is all life is:

“Going through experiences – Finding the joy in them – Learning from them and becoming a better person while helping others” –

That is the philosophy that I have found truth in and I invite you to explore my truth.

On my journey preparing for this show I have learnt so much about my body.

Where to begin?

Flexibility – I never realised how tight I was in certain areas of my body until trying to hit some stage poses. My whole body was/is tight and is currently something I’m working on.

In life everything is balance. Bodybuilding shortens the muscle. It makes sense to then to an activity which focuses on stretching the muscle; such as Yoga.

Through my awareness about my flexibility, I can now help others by educating them on the importance of stretching and taking more care of their bodies. Like I posted a few weeks back, whether you train or not, stretching is a vital way to help alleviate tension and tightness within the body which can lead to bad posture, head aches and even depression – Don’t believe me though, go research!

Along my journey I have met so many great people. From going to the posing camp and meeting with first timers like myself to being back stage with amateurs and veterans in the game.

Me and some athletes before stepping on stage. What great guys.

Me and some athletes before stepping on stage. What great guys.

Inspiring people – I never EVER thought of myself as an inspiration to other people. I’ve always been hunble and modest, so to hear people call me an inspiration or say that I’ve helped them in some way or over come this or that – It still amazes me to this very day and I believe it will continue to do so.

I think the reason why people find my story so inspiring is because I’ve shared my true feelings with you all from day one. I’ve posted my goals and dreams and followed through to see them come through. I’ve shared my set backs and heart aches and through doing this I believe people see that we’re not so different. In fact, where all the same.

By recognising this, you recognise that if I can do it, SO CAN YOU…

I live my dreams so you can live yours. Why do I say this?

Because, people talk to me about their goals and aspirations as if it could never happen in this life time and it upsets me because if only they knew that they could live the life they wanted and manifest their dreams in this current reality by applying themselves.

I don’t want to get too off track here, but what I am trying to say is that:

Do what exactly?

Do what ever it is you want to do provding your willing to work at it and give it whatever it takes. Knowing that by applying some basic principles over a period of time that it is yours for the taking.

~I’m living my dreams – Literally~

Whilst back stage I was surrounded by the most beautiful females in bikini’s. I felt like I had made it LMAO.

I stepped on stage and had girl’s screaming my name – Girls that I never even knew. I felt famous.

I exceeded my dreams!

Napoleon Hill taught us:

“What the mind can conceive, the mind can achieve”

The guy wasn’t lying – I visualised being on stage and doing my thing and I manifested that very same exact thought here on this physical plane. Remember, you and I aren’t so different…

I feel like I’ve started something new here. I don’t know what yet exactly, but my 6th sense/intuition which is pretty strong right now is feeling pretty darn good 😀

Stage Time

I forgot my routine!

The bright lights! Thousand’s of people! The judges! The camera’s! Me! My afro! And time to rock the show!

It’s funny because my nerves transformed into impulses of excitement at the very moment I stepped out on stage – My mind went blank that’s all LOL.

I somehow managed to strike all my poses just before hitting them though and it went down very well 😀

I didn’t place 10 but when I left I had my whole family telling me I done then proud, so that made me feel good.

The Training & Diet

Although I maintained clean eating throughout the prep, at 10 weeks out from the show I increased my carbohydrates as to ensure I didn’t look to small on the stage. It worked! I wasn’t the biggest guy there but I sure held my own.

An example of what I ate day to day would look as follows:

Wake – Black Cofee

Gym – AM Cardio 30 -45 mins

Meal 1 – Protein Shake (40g) & Oats (55g)

Meal 2 – Turkey Breast (150g) & Brown Rice (100g)

Gym – Y3T (Google this training method – I will get into it another time)

Meal 3 – Turkey Breast (150g) & Brown Rice (50g) Broccoli

Meal 4 – Turkey Breast (150g) & Sweet Potatoe (50g) Broccoli

Meal 5 – Turkey Breast (150g) & Brown Rice (50g)

Meal 6/Bed – Protein Shake (40g) & Tbsp Coconut Oil (Slow digesting fats – Another topic)

M- Arms/PM Cardio

T – Hamstrings

W -Back & Shoulders/PM Cardio

T- Rest

F- Chest/ PM Cardio

S – Quads

S- Rest

Abs were trained everyday, but the ab routine is so sacred I’m not sure I’m ready to give it out just yet LOL. For actual exercises performed, send me a an email and I’ll gladly share it with you.

Tips for First Times

  1. Prepare your mind for the journey. Prepare with what resources you have and you have won half the battle
  2. Don’t be to hard on yourself
  3. Stick to your diet and keep strong – Times of weakness will be upon you. But as step one states, be prepared for what will and may come.
  4. Enjoy it – The process of training & dieting, to being on stage to the aftermath, feedback and what feels like a little fame.
  5. Never compare yourself to other competitors. I could write a post on this subject alone. Whether you compete or not, never compare yourself to others! Remember, you are your own competitor. Compete against yourself to be the best and to do better than yesterday.
  6. Look at the bigger picture – It is all a learning process. The learning of self, your weaknesses and strengths.
  7. Sportsman ship – Never be a lousy looser. Be happy for the next man and the hard work he/she put in. For when you are in their position, you would not want that hate and negativity directed your way.
  8. Be critical of yourself – Being hard on yourself and being critical are two separate entities. Being critical for example is knowing what weak areas you need to work on. Being hard is self talk along the lines of “If only I had trained my abs harder and not been so lazy”
  9. Tell the world your competing – Share with the world that you’re going to show of all your hard work on stage… Unless you want to leave it a surprise of course 😉
  10. Practice posing and tensing like there is no tomorrow. Practice like no ones business. (Ladies, I’m not sure if you have to worry about the tensing part here LOL)

And remember –  It’s all one big game to be enjoyed.

I am a winner.

Number One Baby

From what has come from all this, I may not have been awarded a trophy for first place, or walked away with a PRO card but at heart, I genuinely feel like a winner.

I’m accepting the hard work that I’ve put in and the life’s that I’ve touched – I am finally accepting it.

What does being a winner even mean anyway – Is it simply just a state of mind?

I say go for it – Go for what?

Write it down on a piece of paper, stick it on your wall, look at it everyday and just go for it. No talking, no procrastinating, no thinking, no blinking. Just go for it.

I feel like I could type forever – It’s like me not blogging from my heart for a while makes me realise just how much I love it.

Whether you read the whole blog, just read the tips, or stared over the pics lol – I appreciate you being here.

2014 is around the corner and it’s only right we step our game up and take things to the next level. Stick with me and we can all reach that next level together. WHY?

We just getting started baby.

They say anything is possible right? If so, why do we always find ourselves saying we”can’t” do this or we “can’t” do that? Please allow me to invite you as I share this weeks blog post:

I Can’t do it syndrome”

What does it really mean when we as a people say we cannot do something?

I’ve found that over the years since I started personal training that many of my clients would claim that they couldn’t do something without even trying first? This could be anything from  a new exercise movement, to lifting heavier weight  or even starting a new food plan.

I find it interesting that we sometimes feel we cannot do something without attempting it first…

When being faced with a new challenge the majority of us have this pre conceived misconception that we cannot do what is being asked of us?

Where does this stem from? Could it be self doubt on a sub conscious level or a lack of self esteem even?

I’m afraid I don’t have the answers to this (yet), however, what I do have is a list of exercises/things you can do to help you when you find yourself saying “I can’t”.

Before I continue, let me start by saying this:

“If you believe you cannot do something then you are right, you cannot do it. Start believing you can do it however and you will open up the door to a world of possibilities”

I sometimes always think about the new goals I want to accomplish and  find that at times I sit there thinking about the end result (the future) so much so that I start to believe that what I want to accomplish isn’t possible.

Just through the thoughts I’ve created in my head, I’ve come up with this false reality which may never happen.

By focusing to much on the future and the end goal (not living in the present) we start to create situations which don’t exist and this leads to “I can’t do this” or “I can’t do that”…

Can you see the pattern?

The list below are exercises/things which I practice to help me get through the “I can’t do it syndrome”.

The “I can’t do it” syndrome help list

1) Stop saying I can’t! – Further more, take can’t out of your vocabulary period. We’re all trying to move forwards in our life and the word can’t has no place for those of us moving towards success. The moment you say you can’t do something you subconsciously place yourself in that false reality.

2) Look how far you’ve come already – Look at where you are in life today! We’ve all had our share of ups n downs in life but yet you are here today reading this now strong as ever. Remember the tough times you have had to come through when you are next faced with a challenge. No challenge is ever to big for you. Focus your energy on what needs to be done and do it. No excuses.

3) Present Moment vs Future Moment – As I explained earlier, by creating future scenarios in your mind which don’t exist, you create anxiety which causes stress and a whole heap of headache. Let your mind wander when you find you’re thinking into the future too much or dwelling on the past even.

4) Small Steps – Take small steps, one step at a time. We believe we can’t do something when it’s bigger than us and that’s reasonable logic. I have come to learn that breaking stuff down is vital and essential in order to get past the I can’t syndrome. A 12 week goal for example can be broken down into:

Week 1-4

Week 4-8

Week 8-12

From here you can break it down even further into days, hours etc

5) Go easy – It’s one thing demanding excellence within your day to day life –  But to be too hard on yourself for then making a mistake or a small screw up does you no good mentally. It’s crazy because, people do so well in life and upon the smallest mistake they make they start throwing around “I can’t do this any more” – Does this sound like you?

6) Question the statement!

“I can’t diet for 20 weeks”

“I can’t complete a 4 year university course”

“I can’t be a good mother/father”

“I can’t, I can’t, I can’t”

Question yourself until you find an answer as to “WHY”  you believe you cannot do something and you may find that your answer surprises you. Try it out maybe?

7) Self Talk – Some call these affirmations (well they are) but we’ll stick with self talk for today. When you feel the can’t word tying to pop it’s little head up, say to yourself:

The louder you say it the better! Wanna step things up a notch? Try looking in the mirror whilst doing it. You might feel silly at first (very likely actually LOL) but just be conscious to the fact that you are doing something to help with your self development

We will find ourselves in situations that seem impossible to tackle but just remember to take your time, break down whatever it is you’re trying to do and NEVER be to hard on yourself!

You are special and YOU can do anything it is you put your mind to! NO-ONE can ever take that away from you…

Hey guys,

I hope everyone’s well wherever you are reading from.

Today I want to share with you some new stuff I’m learning which is helping to improve the quality of my life. Simply ideas and exercises which cost nothing and take very little effort.

I’ll first start by saying…

We become what we think about. Therefore you need to monitor your thoughts. Are they working with you or against you? Are they positive or negative? Are they good or bad? What are you thinking now…?

“The mind is our slave but we become a slave of the mind without ever realising”

Acknowledge you are not your thoughts or emotions. To help with this, simply imagine you are someone else for a moment, a friend maybe? Imagine you are your friend talking to yourself. Using me as an example, I would therefore no longer refer to myself as “I” but as “David”…Makes sense?

Or imagine your watching yourself run for the bus or even lying in bed…

This is what is referred to as “3rd Person Perspective”

Another exercise which to practice everyday is to simply imagine you are a character in a movie call “Life“, the star being you (because you are a star).

Now imagine you are the director of that movie. Being the director, you say what goes down right? The director directs what happens next…

Reflect upon your day/life before you go to sleep as if you are watching back the movie called “Life” which you are the director of and ask yourself:

What could have been done differently today?
How can I improve tomorrow?
What changes can be made to this movie?
What will be the outcome of this movie?
What characters do I want in this movie?
What would make the star of the movie (yourself) happier everyday?
How can this character improve as a person?
Why does the star of my movie have insecurity issues?

Really dig deep and start asking questions both about yourself and life…

Remember, as the director of this movie called “Life“, you direct what happens today and tomorrow…You and no one else. No one can direct your movie for you except YOU!

Being stuck in the rat race on top of family, friends, social life etc we have no real time to think and reflect.

Thinking and reflecting is a form of mediation which helps us identify what is important in our lives and what isn’t.

Do you feel like you have a purpose in life or are you just living for the sake of living?

If you do have a purpose, are you serving it?

What is life?

Why are we here?

Where do feelings and emotions come from?

What are dreams and how do they work?

Today is a short one but one which I hope provokes some thought and opens your eyes to see that life is more than what you can see with your two eyes. Also, I hope that today helps you see that you are not your thoughts or emotions.

Once you start to open up to this concept, feelings such as anger, jealousy and envy don’t affect you as much as you see that they are just “emotions” and not something which you necessarily have to act from as they don’t form who you are…unless you let them!

Catch y’all soon

Hello Hello Hello,

To everybody reading now, thank you. I started this blog nearly a year ago and never imagined I would be helping peoples lives. This is what I’m here to do and will continue to do.

I’ve just come back from a 2 week holiday in Cyprus and let’s just say I learnt a lot about myself. I’m filled with love, energy, and motivation and I plan to share it with you guys for as long as I’m breathing.

Without further delay, let’s get into this weeks Quote:

“A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing.”

When we make mistakes we learn. When we learn, we develop as human beings that can then move on to teach other human beings the lessons we have learnt.

Life is all about learning, developing and experiencing new things. If you don’t move, you stay in the same position never truly living to your life’s full potential.

We can’t be afraid of making mistakes or failing. We limit ourselves by this way of thinking. I understand no one wants to fail or make mistakes, but by recognizing them as factors to help improve our lives, we start to reprogram the way we perceive our current situations within day to day life.

Think about it…if you never made any mistakes and life was all perfect, how would you grow as an individual? The same applies to failure, if you never fail, how would you grow and learn from life’s lessons?

I know they say a wise man learns from the mistakes of others and I do agree, however, we need to make mistakes ourselves otherwise there wouldn’t be a harmonic balance in our lives.

The more I think about it, the more I see how failure and mistakes are related. Don’t get it twisted though, they are very different things but closely related never the less.

You could fail at something no fault of your own, so the mistake isn’t on you.

You could fail at something due to a mistake, no worries, move on and learn from it.

You could make a mistake but it doesn’t make YOU a failure.

You could make a mistake which causes a business to fail, still however, YOU are NOT the failure, the business is.

If you are a good person and do something bad, it doesn’t make you a bad person. It just means you done something a bad person would do. We can’t identify ourselves by our actions…Please remember this!

Failure is success turnt inside out – Remember this when you next fail!

The motto is to try, try and try again.

That’s how most entrepreneurs get/got rich…They fail a countless amount of times yet still have the fighters spirit to keep trying and trying again – This is what you call persistency.

Life ain’t easy! However, by recognizing and changing your thought patterns, life can be made A LOT  easier. First, you need to know that you are not your mind, thoughts or emotions.

Good and bad is a perception of the mind. You can look at situations for what they are or you can perceive them using the mind – The choice is yours!

I actually don’t mind failing anymore as I know I’ll learn a valuable lesson both for myself and others. The same goes for mistakes…

If I screw up, so what, I screw up…get over it. I never aim to make mistakes but when I do I accept that I’ve made a mistake, learn from it and move on…Never dwell on the past. Dwelling on the past is poison to the mind as you can’t change what has happened already, so get over it and look towards the future while living in the now (the present which is essentially a gift)

The next time you attempt to do something, whatever it is, recognize that failure and mistakes are all apart of the game. Look at them as friends which offer tough love and the possibility of self improvement. Once you stop identifying them as the enemy your life will improve 10 fold. WHY?

Because not only will you have you changed your thought pattern but also your perception on the reality in which we all live.

If you have a big goal, dream or ambition that you haven’t chased due to your old enemies/new friends by the name of”Failure and Mistakes” then make that change today and say to yourself:

“I know I can make this happen” “I will make this happen”

“I know I can make this happen” “I will make this happen”

“I know I can make this happen” “I will make this happen”

Look in the mirror everyday while stating the above…See it and believe it to be true!

Keep dreaming big, keep goal setting and believe and know in your heart that:

And the rest is history

Have a great week guys

Peace, Love and Blessings to you all

Quotes by:  George Bernard Shaw/David Richards

Let me start off by saying, Summer is finally here 🙂

Everyone’s happier, the evenings are longer and brighter, flowers are blooming, birds are singing and the positive vibes are flowing. I’m here to keep the vibes flowing with another quote of the week and to provoke some more thought.

“Setting goals is the first step in turning the invisible into the visible”

Does this make sense to you? At one point it didn’t for me but now I fully get it. Let’s explore a bit deeper and hopefully I can make it clear for some who may not understand.

Everything starts of with a thought. You are where you are in life at this very moment because of your thoughts. You are in control of  your thoughts, you and no one else.

Through your  thoughts, you can decide the next step you take on this journey called life.

Through your thoughts you can determine how you want to look, who you want to be, where you want to be, what you want to achieve, how much money you’d like to earn, who you choose to marry, what car you drive, how you treat people, how you feel day to day, reaching for a snack, going to the gym, down to reading this blog post at this very moment…

Can you see how powerful thought is?

What is thought though? Have you really asked yourself that question? Where does it come from? Can it be measured? If psychics can really read our minds, do they know what thoughts we’ll come up with next? If so, that leads me to question free will? Do plants have thoughts? If so, what do they  think about?

We as individuals can see our thoughts in our minds but we can’t show them to people like you would a video on Youtube.

It’s almost as if thought exist in another realm somewhere and in order for us to bring them into manifestation on this physical 3d plane we need to take a number of “strategic  steps” for people to see what we can see in our minds. In order for people to see our thoughts, believe in our dreams and truly experience them with us we have to first know that it is possible.

martin-luther-king-jr-day-L-xGOagM1Martin Luther King had a dream, a thought, an idea, a clear visual image in head which at one point we couldn’t see. But he took it upon himself to take a number of “strategic steps” to make that dream a reality. To make the once invisible thought become a visible reality.

He worked hard to share his vision with us and that’s what we have to do with our great idea’s, big dreams, ambitions and aspirations. Life is limitless, but by making the wrong choices we limit ourselves.

Say for example a guy watches a documentary about Bodybuilding and loves the lifestyle they live. He loves all the eating, the sleeping, competing, training twice a day and all the aspects that comes with that lifestyle and decides to himself:

“You know what, I want to become a Bodybuilder” – He leaves himself open to two choice. He could:

A) Just leave the idea as a thought, you know, a nice little idea in the back of his mind.Never taking action to make that dream a goal, he limits himself never really living to his full potential. One day however, he look’s back on his life once he’s settled down with his wife and kids and thinks “What if”… Don’t be a what if-er. I’m going to cover what if-er’s, buts, maybes and regret’s real soon as that’s as that’s an interesting topic within it itself. His second choice is:

B) Set a goal and make that thought become a reality (turn invisible into the visible). Do whatever it takes to not only become a Bodybuilder but the best damn Bodybuilder there is. (This reminds me, I must upload some Arnold Schwarzenegger motivational videos)

Thought is like electricity… We can’t see it but we know it exist. Just look around you. The world we live in is built around thought. You still don’t believe me…

The car you or someone you know drives…A load of people gathered round together and thought up a bunch of ideas  before that car came into existence. The design of the car, the price it cost, they also came up with it’s name whether it be BMW or Ford, it’s logo, the models that will be available and a whole list of other stuff. They put it on the market which then made it available for you to purchase and drive. This process doesn’t “Just Happen”

Come to think about it, nothing ever “Just Happens”.

The shopping  centre you and I shop from…It didn’t just appear one day out from out of the skies…It was through thought how it came into manifestation.

The same applies to movies, TV shows, commercials and even music. A singer/songwriter for example usually goes through an experience and through that experience they get a thought/idea about a song to write, record that song and then release it for our listening ears to share the experience. I wasn’t there but I know Katie Perry kissed a girl and liked it very much 🙂

Even the tough situations we face…it’s through our thoughts that we decide the outcome. Do we get knocked down and stay down or do we get back up and keep fighting. The choice is yours.

When this concept was first brought to me, I had difficulty understanding it (many people do).

But as time goes on, if you become more aware of your thoughts and consciously monitor your thinking, you start to realise that you literally shape your future and the outcome of ALL situations.

I invite you all to try this an experiment for one week as I don’t want you to believe the information I give you but would rather you go research and try it out for yourselves. What do you have to loose? If it doesn’t work for you it cost nothing but a little effort.

To believe means to be-lied to which is a state of ignorance – Accepting something you cannot prove is ignorant which is why I say research it and find the truth for yourself. Once accepted as truth for yourself you are no longer in that state of ignorance.

If this information resonates with you in any way, shape or form or you gain something from the experiment after a week, you can then build on from your experience and start taking REAL control over your life.

The choice is yours for the taking…

Have a great week guys and Love to you all

Hey Guys,

How is everyone doing this week? I hope you’re all good and enjoying life to the fullest doing whatever it is you want to be doing everyday.

It’s the first week of July already, it won’t be long until they start advertising Christmas, just you watch LOL.

Anyway, I’m back again to send out some more positive vibes and motivation and hope to lift someone’s spirit who may be going through some hard times right now.

While searching for this weeks quote, I found the below quote and knew it was the one I had to share this week. Not only do I live by this quote, but I feel it has a nice message to it that anyone can relate to. Without further ado, here goes…

“Set your sights high, the higher the better. Expect the most wonderful things to happen, not in the future but right now. Realize that nothing is too good. Allow absolutely nothing to hamper you or hold you up in any way”.

I’ve always believed and said to people, aim for the stars and if you don’t get to the stars, at least you’ll touch the sky.

Have you ever found that you’ve had a goal or a dream, shared it with someone, and there and then they’ve crushed it within a heart beat? I don’t know about you, but I have and it doesn’t feel nice. To be fair, a lot of the time I don’t reckon their intentionally trying to put me down, but their level of risk taking is not on the same level as mine.

You may often find this with friends and family and easily take offence, but from their perspective, I think most of the time there just trying to help and maybe don’t believe the risk your willing to take is realistic. This is why it’s VITAL that you fully believe in yourself.

You see, only you know what you are capable of and no one else. Eric Thomas taught me when I went go see him a few months back that, I should keep my dreams to myself and I recommend you do the same. WHY?

What we need to remember is, no one is going to believe in us if we don’t even believe in ourselves.

Take a bank investor for example. If I went to him/her with a business plan but I wasn’t 100% confident that the business would succeed, why on earth would they even consider to give me the investment? If I don’t believe the business will do well, what reason do they have to believe it will do well? There’s a 90% chance I will leave empty handed.

Take the same scenario, however this time round I’m fully prepared, have all my numbers together and fully believe the business is profitable – What are the chances I’ll get the loan now?

I think you’ll find for one, they’d take me seriously and two, even if I didn’t get the loan, just by changing my mind state to a place of belief and being prepared, my chances soared 10 fold.

We gotta be realistic here guys, you really have to know and believe in yourself first before others can place any sort of hope in you.

Saying that though, once you’ve established a belief system within yourself and accepted that anything is possible (proving your willing to put in the work) it then becomes easier for you to sell your dream to people.

NOTE – You will always get some people who reply with negativity upon sharing a goal or dream, in situations like this, just brush off your shoulders and keep proceeding forward.

I always preach to folks that no one can stop you from doing what you want to do but you and feel I should elaborate a little on this using myself as an example real quick.

Back in January when I entered the Body Transformation challenge at my gym, I told myself flat out that I had won. I visualised how I was going to look after the 90 days, I visualised how I was gonna train throughout the 90 days and I visualised my reaction upon finding out I had won. I may sound crazy, but visualisation is a very powerful tool that deserves its own blog post.

Anyway, 90 days later and KAPOW – It was in the bag. Throughout the journey NO ONE was going to stop me but me…I mean how could they.

No one can’t diet for me but me. No one can train for me but me. On top of that, no one can get 6-8 hours of sleep a night for me but ME – Only I can do the above for me and NO ONE ELSE!

If I didn’t maintain a strict diet, it would of been ME stopping ME from getting the win. If I didn’t train 5-6 times a week in the gym, again it would of been ME stopping ME from getting the win. Can you see my point here? This is what I mean when I say NO ONE can stop you.

“Expect the most wonderful things to happen, not in the future but right now”.

To me, if we live in the past we are just dwelling. If we live in the future, we are not enjoying the now, the present (which is a gift). To live in the now is difficult for a lot of folks and I used to be one of them. Since secondary school I’ve always found myself goal setting and thinking about “5 years down the line” or “In the next few years I’m going to do this or do that etc”

Now don’t get me wrong, THINKING and planning for the future is good, however, constant LIVING in the future is a whole different story.

Living in the future doesn’t allow us to enjoy the present (the now). We can easily find ourselves obsessing on tomorrow. But then tomorrow comes and we obsess about the day next, then the next day, then the day after that and soon enough we find that although we have reached our goal, at no point did we stop to enjoy the days leading up to that goal.

So what happens is, you find yourself in a situation where you have accomplished your goal, a goal that you’ve worked hard for, however, you don’t have the happiness you imagined would be associated with your new success.

Don’t do this to yourself guys, enjoy everyday and try to live in the now, the present, the gift.

If you find that you don’t currently live in the present (the now) and your always dwelling on the past or obsessing on the future, please may I ask that you take some time to reflect upon your life. I think that you’ll find living for today,THINKING about tomorrow, but learning from the past will put you in a much happier state of mind which will essentially lead to a better overall experience of life.

I call it a gift I suppose as it’s a play on words. You give someone a gift (a present) but to be alive at this time present is a gift within itself as many people have transitioned but you are still here now, alive and kicking and able to read this.

Be grateful for everyday you are alive no matter what as there is ALWAYS someone more worst of than you and it’s only when you compare your life to say someone in a 3rd world country that you can really appreciate life and count your blessing seeing things from a different perspective.

I hope I have provoked some thought within some of you and helped you to see that life ain’t so bad after all…

Anyway, Ima wrap it up as I have a long day ahead tomorrow and need some beauty sleep.

(You don’t look this fine just using coco butter LMAO – I’m only joking)

Have a great week guys and I’ll be back soon.

Peace and Love
