What’s up my wonderful people?

How are we all doing on this fine Monday?

I’m here to bring you some more motivation today as motivation is what keeps us going through rough times & difficult situations, without EVER giving up. It’s what keeps us going when we are on the verge of “wanting” to give up…

It appears that ALOT of people loose hope when Monday morning comes around…Am I right?

They’ve enjoyed the weekend sooo much that work seems like the biggest drag ever…

I’m sure that’s why Eric Tomas makes “Thank God It’s Monday” every week 🙂

Look at it like this though: Things could be so much worst…

It’s easy to complain about our current situation, I use to do it…

But when you look at the bigger picture at what is going on around us in the world today, it’s easy to see that we’re not doing too bad 🙂

Imagine if you had no food to eat whilst starvation was upon you?
Imagine living on the streets throughout the winter period?

Imagination is a powerful tool to help you see that “All is well”

Anywhoo,

I want to discuss motivation with you today…

Being a personal trainer/nutrition advisor, I’ve heard every excuse under the Sun LOL…

Here’s a few:

“I had no time Dave, you know, with work n all”
“It was raining outside buddy…”
“Dave, you know how it is, KFC is just so tempting”
“Healthy food is boring Dave, I really can’t do this”
“It’s too much effort man – I will just take fat burners instead”

Heck, I may have even used some of those excuses myself in the past…

However, one thing I’ve come to learn about excuses is that they are just:

“Really Good Stories”

It’s a story we create and tell ourselves on a daily basis to make us feel better. Think about it…

Somehow along the way of becoming a great story teller, we actually believe our own story LOL…

Us humans really are something else…

We then tell our friends and family:

“Arghh man, I was going to the gym for a month or two but I stopped as it took up way too much of my energy. I also started to eat sugar again to keep my energy levels up also”.

People come up with such a bizarre crazy stories and really believe them LOL

It’s all good though as I know this fitness way of life isn’t easy.

It does take work and dedication to keep your nutrition in check.

It does require effort to work out 3-4 times a week whilst working a job (Just Over Broke) and juggling family and social life…

BUT it can be done if you make the time and are “Motivated” enough to stick to it…

Do you have heart? Do you have what it takes?

YES YOU DO!

Are you prepared to sacrifice something you love to get to where you want to be?

Only you can answer that one my friend…

Do you give up when it get’s tough?

Maybe before you did, but not after reading this…

YOU CAN CREATE WHATEVER IT IS YOU WANT IN LIFE…

It all depends on what you are willing to put in though?

When I was preparing for my first Bodybuilding/Fitness show, motivation was the only thing that kept me going…

Did I want to give up at times…HELL YES!

I even doubted myself at times…

I had to sacrifice foods I loved as they were no good for my goal…

I had to come out of my comfort zone and train harder than I ever had trained before as I was competing against the best physiques in Europe…

I had to believe in myself!

No one else can believe in you if you don’t have self belief first…Remember that…

I had to wake up at 5.30am in the morning to go to the gym. I then got to work tired only to work a 8 hour shift and still went back to the gym for round 2 of training in the evening. That’s my story but not one filled with excuses…

Too many of you are good story tellers…

Like I say, I know how it is – I’m human as well…

But don’t let story telling (excuses) be the reason why you don’t excel and move forward in your wonderful life…

Do you know that whatever created you also created you to create abundance in your life?

Our mind is a gift that allows us to make our thoughts a reality – Did you know that?

Did you know that you are more powerful and special than you may perceive at this moment in time?

If not, work with me on reclaiming your power and live the HAPPY LIFE that you deserve to live – I’m not joking here!

What other way is there to live? Really think about this my people…

A new job…

A new state of mind…

A new you…

It is all possible if YOU REALLY WANT IT…

Hello My Good People,

How are we all doing today?

20 days into the New Year already…

Before you know it, we will all be talking about summer, beaches, 6 packs, leg’s, bums & tums… just you watch 🙂

Speaking of summer, I wouldn’t mind some hot sun on my skin now…The UK is FREEZING!

I’m not sure what the weather is like where you are right now but if it’s anything like the UK, let’s just say I feel your pain lol

Anywhoo…

For this weeks “Quote of the Week” I decided to look at my currentt situation in life and everyone else’s around me and I came to the conclusion that it doesn’t matter who you are, how wealthy you are, how much money you have in the bank or who you know…

WE ALL FEEL PAIN

This got me thinking….

You see, pain comes in different shapes, colours and sizes. No “one” pain is the same as another.

Pain may be different for you compared to someone else – The fact of the matter is we all feel it…

We can experience pain in a number of forms.

Pain can be felt from falling over and scraping our knee to feeling pain of loosing a loved one.

We may feel pain from loosing a job or from splitting up with a partner.

After viewing and thinking about pain with a new pair of eye’s and some updated 2014 thoughts, I’ve now adopted a new approach to the topic which I’d like to share with you all.

And that my friends leads me to today’s QOTW:

“Pain is merely another sign that you are alive. Therefore, give thanks when in pain”

Before I continue, let’s quickly look over the definition of the word “Pain”

1) Highly unpleasant physical sensation caused by illness or injury.

2) Mental suffering or distress.

So for me to turn around and say “Give Thanks” to the little bugger may seem crazy right?

Allow me to continue…

People view death as a taboo subject when in actuality it is a natural part of life. In fact, it is within the cycle of life and will happen to ALL of us eventually whether we like it or not. Yep, that’s right, we ain’t gonna be here forever….

(Which is why you need to enjoy life to the MAX)

Plant’s, Insect’s, Animals – We all go through the cycle…

If we weren’t alive in this physical body we’ve been blessed with, how would we experience anything…including pain?

Allow me ask you something on a personal level to help validate my point…

Are you grateful for life? 

If yes:

What are you grateful for?

If you answered no, ask yourself:

Where does the lack of gratefulness stem from?

Deep reflection and pondering upon this question can do 1 of 2 things:

1) Help you to clearly see how blessed your life truly is

2) Bring up a lot of hidden emotions, demons, beliefs and thought patterns that you didn’t even know you had hiding in your sub conscious mind

If you answered no, I have an exercise for you below which WILL help you move from a state of UN-gratefulness to Gratefulness  if followed everyday (notice the capital G)

(NOTE) This exercise is wonderful to perform even if you are in a state of Gratefulness. It’s a simple exercise you don’t have to head down to the gym for either…

(Things I am Grateful for in my Life AKA My Way to Gratefulness Exercise)

1) Reflect upon your life and others around you who are worst of than you are – Just watch the news if you’re struggling…

2) Buy a small note book and pen

3) Label the note book “Things I am Grateful for in my Life” – It has to be this title!

4) Write down 5 things that your grateful for EVERYDAY

5) Read over ALL of your notes everyday, 5 times a day (At least once upon waking & once before going to sleep – This will help to re-wire your sub conscious mind)

NOW, I can’t tell you when to stop this exercise but your Heart can…

Tune into your body and listen to your own guidance system..We all have one. We just haven’t been made aware of it or have learned how to tune into it properly.

I find writing down what we are grateful for put’s us in a place of “Feeling Good” and helps us to to go with the natural flow of life.

I don’t believe that our experience in life was meant to be “hard” or “painful” so to speak. I believe we are to feel & experience these emotions to not only master them but to also be able to identify them upon being faced with them again in our lives.

Seeing how we react to the same emotions after our previous lessons with them is like a test, a Life test so to speak…

So…What does pain have to do with being grateful then?

Well, I find that once we are truly happy and grateful in life and have found our purpose and direction….

THEN and only then can we start to look to pain as an indicator for being alive and grateful…Make sense?

It really is a new way of thinking. A new way for that works for me and hopefully works for you.

I use my pain as motivation and so can you….

I turn negative into positive and so can you….

Hey Guys,

Seeing as it’s the last day of the year I thought I’d write a small post about some random stuff and kinda just go with the flow…

Where do I start? 

2013 has been one of the best years of my life. I started the year with no vision that I’d be where I am today. Life has a way to carry you down this stream if you learn to go with the flow. I’d set many goals at the start of 2013 and through setting out to achieve them, life has taken me down this path that I hadn’t anticipated.

I’ve learned a lot about myself as an individual by going through life and trying to learn from everyday experiences.

This year I’ve travelled, achieved goals, met new friends, over come challenges, helped people who’ve come across my path and I am living everyday as if it’s my last – I am literally trying to squeeze as much joy out of life as I can. Imagine life was toothpaste in the tube about to run out – That’s the type of squeeze I’m talking about lol.

Never give up!

I never started the year knowing that I’d compete in not one, but two bodybuilding/fitness shows standing in front of 1000’s of people. I never knew that I would experience my first professional studio photo shoot with a top photographer in the city of London. I never knew or saw any of this guys. I mean, I saw it in my mind and knew that I would make it happen one day but I never this year would be the year. It makes me think, none of us know where life is going to take us. We just gotta stay positive and keep trying. PERIOD!

Life’s way too short not to enjoy. It’s too short to remain angry at someone because of something that happened in the past. It’s too short to harbour negative energy towards anyone because in turn all that will happen is it will affect your happiness. 

I mean think about it. If you’re in a state of mind where you’re constantly seeking to get revenge on someone, how happy in your life can you truly be?

I have learned to forgive all the people in my life who have hurt me in the past and who will hurt me in the future as I want to live in peace with myself and be happy. Deep down we all know that true happiness doesn’t arrive until we are at peace with ourselves.

Please do not confuse what I mean when I say forgiveness. I don’t mean forgiveness in the traditional sense as in “Forgive, forget and be friends again”, but forgiveness as in to forgive so you can be at peace of mind.

I look back at my life now and can see that I have truly become a man. Upon reflection, I can see that I have come a long way from where I use to be. I now recognise that my life has been one big lesson. Each day is really a school for learning. 

All the situations I’ve been in that I once called negative or bad have been stepping stones to make me the guy that I am today.

“Without negativity in my life, I wouldn’t aspire to be positive” 

I know this may sound crazy to some but I now appreciate negativity in my life. In fact, I appreciate all the polarities which fall under negativity.

Let me explain. When I’m angry, I learn to be remain calm. I don’t like getting or being angry, so I consciously focus my attention on remaining calm when I find myself in “negative” situations. Through mastering and learning to control all negative aspects of ourselves we become stronger individuals. I hope you now have a better understanding of what I mean when I say I welcome negativity in my life.

I now view life as a game. One big massive game. And within this massive game contains games within games (Inception).

We all play the numbers game which requires everyday participation.

In fact, the numbers game takes up the majority of our lives. If you are not playing in this game, life will become very difficult for you.

If you hadn’t clocked on by now I’m talking about “Money“. In today’s reality we are all playing the numbers game and you have no choice but to play (unless you live out in the hills somewhere)

But I’ve realised something – Life isn’t actually all about money. You may think I’m contradicting myself, so again allow me to explain…

On the bigger picture of life, we are all human. We all have the same God given needs and are made up of the same bio-logical structure. We all need love, food, shelter, health and air to breathe right…

From what I find truth in, life is all about creating. It’s about creating and sharing with the world what you are good at. Developing your natural born skills, loving others and doing your part to making the world a better place. However, this isn’t our reality…

 Instead, we live in a world where our reality has become “Survive Survive Survive”.

We are all so busy trying to survive and live…So much so that we’re not getting the opportunity to truly live and enjoy life. You following me?

It’s not all bad though as within all of that I have also learned something else. We all have the power to shape our reality…

Who controls your thoughts? YOU

Thoughts are what make up your…? REALITY

Now, if your thoughts are what make up your reality and you control your thoughts then you can clearly understand that you are the one with the power. And we all know that with power comes responsibility…

WE ALL HAVE THE POWER TO SHAPE OUR REALITY

When you make a comment such as:

“I’m depressed because this person hurt my feelings” OR

“I’ve had a bad day because my boss was being a bone head”

Do you realise you that you have given that person the power to control how you are feeling? You are consciously allowing them to shape your reality. No one deserves that sort of control over you but YOURSELF! Never forget that!

Looking back at life and thinking over 2013 I can truly see that I am living in a different reality to which I use to live. I don’t even feel like myself any more at times. That might sound bad but it’s actually a good thing.

I think what has happened is, I’ve realised my true potential and what I can achieve in this life time. But because I’ve created this self image of myself which is a portrait of all my lower aspects, I’ve identified myself with all those lower aspects and have been living my life thinking that “That is who I am” and “That is all I am” .

When I speak to people about this subject, I see that we are all in it together. Many others have created this poisonous “Self Image” of themselves that have stemmed from hurtful past experiences which have built up and manifested into emotional blockages such as confidence issues, fear, worry of failure, lack of self worth, fear of rejection…We don’t believe in ourselves and I believe this is the root cause of it all.

We don’t see all the good things we have been doing in our lives. We don’t recognise all the wonderful things we have been doing for ourselves and others around us until someone points it out. Why?

Because we were “just” being “Ourselves”

What does your self image say about you?

Do you walk with confidence because you know your true worth or are you living a life filled with fear?

 

Do you know how special you are? If so, do you embrace it?

If not, ask yourself why exactly you are not special?

Listen to the answer you hear in your mind? The answer may be along the lines of a mistake you’ve made in the past.

Whatever it is, face it, analyse it, work with it and make peace with it. Don’t move into 2014 with any unnecessary emotional baggage. If you are carrying baggage, make 2014 the year to drop the load and live in peace. 

I could type forever but seeing as it’s New Years Eve I don’t want to bore you any longer lol.

Guys, I wish a you all a wonderful 2014.

Don’t be too down on yourself if you never made it happen like you wanted to in 2013. Just review what could have been better and make it right for 2014.

That’s the good thing about failure. You fail, You “learn”, You make it right and go for it again and again until you finally get right…

You will realise soon enough though that because of “failure” you learned to reach success and had it right all along…

Hello Hello Hello my wonderful people 🙂

How are we all doing today?

Christmas is around the corner and I know the binge eating has started already after speaking to some of you LOL. As long as you’re happy and enjoying life it’s all good – But do be careful that you don’t go TOO overboard as that bloating feeling is never nice and the weight gain really ISN’T cool – I’m sure we’d all agree on that right 🙂

Anyway, how quickly has time flown. We’re rapidly approaching the start of 2014 whilst simultaneously approaching end of 2013. Did you all have a successful 2013? I sure hope you did. If you didn’t, it’s not the end of the world and you should never be too hard on yourself – What’s the point?

2014 is a new start for new success, new money, new memories, new love, new friends and new clothes if you so desire LOL

But on a serious note, if you didn’t achieve what you wanted to achieve this year, reflect upon why that is?

Really sit down in silence and ask yourself some questions – You may find that talking to yourself a few times a week actually helps you to put things into perspective and helps to give you clarity as to what it is you really want from life.

It’s a big misconception that talking to yourself deems you as mad – I actually talk to myself aloud for at least 20 minutes a day (by myself of course LOL) and it has helped me to work out situations, dilemma’s and major break throughs that I wouldn’t of arrived to had I not been speaking with myself.

With that being said, allow me to share with you todays “Quote of the week” from my main man Will Smith – Who remembers Fresh Prince 🙂

“No matter how hard things may seem, don’t get down, and don’t give up. The clouds will clear, and there are brighter days ahead”

A lot of the quotes I share with you are along the lines of “Not Giving Up” and that is because as humans, we tend to give up easily upon being faced with a difficult situation.

We all like the easy way out as the easy way out is the easiest option of course. I mean, it is easy to quit, give up or stop trying (which are all essentially the same thing) because then we can tell our minds:

“Well at least we didn’t fail right…”

WRONG!

By quitting, we enrol onto the course at the “Failure Academy” and are well on our way to a masters degree/PhD in Quitology – Am I right or am I wrong?

When we quit, it is planted into our sub conscious minds and it remains there as emotional blockage until we do something about it. We continue with our everyday lives carrying this blockage at a cellular level tricking ourselves about the whole thing – Who can identify with this?

We feel down when things don’t go our way and then we get even more stressed when we quit. So in theory, what we have just done here is created a vicious cycle for ourselves.

I call this “The cycle of doom”

When we are in the cycle of doom or in the picture frame metaphorically speaking, it’s inevitably impossible for us to see the bigger picture – But we must remember, where there is dark, there is light (even if you can’t see it at the time)

Saying that, I then ask you this:

If a situation you deem as bad helps you to become a stronger individual, can it still be deemed as bad?

You see, whilst in the “bad” situation, you are in the picture so to speak, and again, this makes it difficult for you to see the bigger picture.

Allow me to share a quick exercise with you all which helps me at times like this.

Paradigm Exercise

1) Close your eyes and imagine yourself very clearly in the picture and all that’s going on around you

2) Imagine yourself now stepping out the picture whilst holding onto the frame for guidance and support

3) Now, imagine yourself again very clearly looking at the picture you just climbed out of, however, you can still see yourself in the image (the situation)

What this does is puts you into what I call “3rd person perspective” and allows you to analyse the situation from another perspective than how you’d normally view it – Very Powerful Exercise!

As humans, it’s in our nature to be hard on ourselves – Where did this even come from?

What has being hard on yourself ever caused you but grief, headache and possibly a degree of self hate (Would you be hard on a loved one – Your child, parent or lover?)

I’ve said it many times before but I’ll say it again – There is a difference between being critical of thy self and being down right hard (sub-conscious abuse I call it)

I have discovered the poison in my mind and I am consciously working with it and on it EVERYDAY. The sad thing is right, a lot of people live their lives this way and never work at ridding the poison of the mind (most likely due to their lack of awareness of it all) which is why I combine motivational quotes with my personal experience to hopefully help some of you who may be going through what I’m currently going though. They say, help others and you indirectly help yourself – So true!

I’ve discovered that Life is a game of polarity – What do I mean exactly?

Well…

We appreciate good times for we know bad times

We know happiness as we’ve felt sadness

We know of ying and yang

And we recognise darkness as we are moving through the light of Life 🙂

Life is a game of polarities and to master the game, we must learn to integrate both the polarities…

Positive vs Negative 

Key points for today

* Keep loving yourself as being harsh for making mistakes isn’t loving yourself

* NEVER GIVE UP

* Step out the picture frame every now and then (See my blog post on 3rd person perspective where I go more into the subject)

* Talk to yourself like you would a Guru/Master Teacher or God (If you are religious that is)

* CONSCIOUSLY ENJOY LIFE AS LIFE IS ENJOYING YOU

RECOGNISE THAT YOU ARE LIFE ITSELF AND THAT WHATEVER CREATED YOU ALSO MADE YOU A CREATOR OF LIFE – DON’T LET THESE WORDS GO OVER YOUR HEAD!
